WrestleMania SmackDown kicks off 2022 with Andre the Giant Battle Royal. In a field full of high-profile champions, an unexpected performer won the game. Madcap Moss prevailed over the rest of the competition and ultimately eliminated American champion Finn Balor.
Moss outlived several other WWE stars, including Balor, Dolph Ziggler, Shanky, Jinder Mahal, Apollo Crews and Damian Priest.Ahead of Stand & Deliver, NXT veteran Tommaso Ciampa also participated in the competition.
Finalists included Ciampa, Ziggler, Robert Roode, Balor and Moss. Moss avoided elimination on several occasions as Happy Corbyn briefly appeared by the circus early in the game. Both of his elimination fears came from Champa.
After the big win, Moss also gave Dallas fans one of his signature jokes. They booed him as usual. The crowd clearly trailed Balor as he was the biggest babyface in the game.
What does Moss’ victory mean after WrestleMania?
Although he’s been a punching bag lately Drew McIntyre, the victory could mean Moss has a little boost. He showed his mettle in multiple games against McIntyre. However, Corbyn used Moss as a victim, so the pair could break up sometime this year.
However, if Corbin and Moss are united, and if a Babyface still holds the Intercontinental or SmackDown Tag Team Championship after WrestleMania, the Happy Folks can pursue those titles. Since Ciampa has eliminated Moss almost twice, perhaps this is a sign that Ciampa will join SmackDown after Stand & Deliver.
Things could change after the WrestleMania weekend, so anything about future angles is on the table. While he wasn’t the expected winning name, Moss has been featured on SmackDown for the last year. At least in the game, whenever he gets the chance, he does it.
However, these jokes may require more work.
