Maya Jama’s split from fiancé Ben Simmons is reportedly down to their “nonstop career and endless travel.”
The 28-year-old host got engaged to Kendall Jenner’s ex in December, but after she was recently photographed without an engagement ring, insiders confirmed the pair called off their year-long relationship in July to focus on to their business.
Now an insider has detailed that the couple are heartbroken at having to end things but can’t get their schedules to line up.
“It’s been a tough time for them,” a source told the New York Post.
“While they both cared so much about each other, they really gave it their all and realized they were just from two different worlds. They now understand that they don’t have the time to devote themselves to the relationship as they thought they were.”
The source added: “After many long nights and hours of heartfelt conversations, they finally realised they loved each other and their nonstop career and endless travel made it incredibly impossible for them to succeed.”
A source close to Maya – who regularly travels from her UK home to the US to see the 26-year-old NBA player, where he plays for the Brooklyn Nets – told The Sun in Sunday’s paper “: “Maya called it off the engagement after last month’s developments.
“She’s not going back to New York now. It’s heartbreaking for both of them, especially since they’ve been so loyal to each other.
“They are all young and want to focus on their careers.
“Maya has a bright future with job opportunities around the world and she feels positive.
“She goes to the gym a lot and hangs out with her best friends.”
Maya previously dated British rapper Stormzy, 29, between 2015 and 2019.
