The Ukrainian offensive near Kherson in the south and Kharkov in the north is failing. This explains why Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky imposed restrictions the other day on what Western journalists could report from the front. In fact, many of these journalists were pulled from the front lines. Do you think Ukraine would do this if they smashed the Russians to pieces and forced the Russians to retreat? Won’t. The West would be flooded with videos of victorious Ukrainian troops celebrating their victory.
Instead of celebrating, videos emerged showing Ukraine’s losses after a failed attempt to occupy the Zaporozhya nuclear power plant, aka the NPP.
IAEA chief inspector Grossi confirmed today that the IAEA is still on site at the nuclear power plant:
Six representatives of the International Atomic Energy Agency continued to Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.
At the same time, Western media are debunking Ukrainian claims of Russian shelling of nuclear power plants. How could this be? By reporting what Ukraine itself admitted:
At the end of today’s fighting, the situation in Nikolaevsko-Krivoy Rog is dire for the Ukrainian army.
At the end of the fourth day of the Ukrainian offensive against Kherson, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation successfully repelled all regional attacks, restoring the front lines near Posad-Pokrovsky and Orgino. The fiercest fighting took place in the Andreevsky district of the front.
Despite the destruction of the Ukrainian Armed Forces command post in Berezovat and the disabling of a large warehouse containing weapons and ammunition in Belaya Krinitsa, Ukrainian commanders continued to transfer equipment and personnel to bridgeheads on the southern coast.
The reinforcements moved across the open steppe, through the narrow corridors of Sukhoi Stavka and Kostromka, to the Davydov Brod-Novaya Kakhovka highway. The Ukrainian Armed Forces successfully captured the ghost village of Bezimenne west of Karlo-Marsovskoye, and the Ukrainian Armed Forces tried unsuccessfully to capture the village by storm.
Russian Su-34s and Su-24s, along with cannons and rockets, destroyed the Ukrainian Armed Forces pontoon at Andreevka and began methodically destroying enemy troops trapped in bags of fire. Bezimenne’s troops were destroyed.
At the same time, from the Blagodatovka side, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation crossed Ingulet, over the northern coast, broke through the defense line of the village of Ternovka and occupied a bridgehead.
message from Kherson and Kharkov in the north Equally grim for Ukraine:
AFU’s 3rd counterattack attempt in Kherson State, with basically the same result. The Ukrainian side saw dozens of ambulances shuttle back and forth, transporting several wounded to hospitals. Some battles are still ongoing and the outcome is unclear.
The Ukrainian attack north of Kharkov, the breakout forces were partly destroyed and partly captured with their commanders.
Donbass: The final breakthrough of the second line of defence near Pesky has now been confirmed. The fortress area between Peski and Pervomayskoye, which, as Yuri said, holds the key to the entire front, has been occupied by the 11th DPR Militia.
The occupation of Pesky by Russian troops means that Russia will have an open road to the Dnieper in the west. This does not mean that Ukraine will stop its efforts to retake the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant. But it does mean that Ukraine can no longer paint Russia as a villain. IAEA inspectors at factory sites are volunteer human shields. If Ukraine killed or injured any of these inspectors, it would likely force the United Nations to change its stance on Russian special military operations.
Political divisions within Zelensky’s government are likely to widen once Ukraine’s full-scale losses in the counteroffensive become widely known. In a Ukrainian-language video online, a Ukrainian general said Ukraine lost “hundreds of thousands”. This is a fact that will not be hidden, and will fuel the turmoil surrounding Zelensky. How long will the people of Ukraine continue to support the policy of their husbands and sons being used as cannon fodder? This is a key indicator to monitor in September.
