Going back at least seven years — at least as far as his business is concerned, Trump has been able to rein in investigations and possible charges, first with money, then in office, and a brief but inexplicable period early in the Biden administration. The moment the House Committee began its hearings, it collapsed. People felt the hearing would be embarrassing to the DOJ. Now, the Justice Department is moving at breakneck speed, so fast that Trump’s advisers are in a panicked meltdown.
According to a report in protectorthe 11th Circuit and Judge Raymond Dearie (special master) ruled with near-impossible speed:
try to pass Donald Trump The Justice Department has delayed a criminal investigation into the illegal retention of government secrets after the Justice Department regained access to about 100 classified documents seized by the FBI from the former U.S. president’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida largely thwarted.
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit this week set aside key parts of a federal judge’s order that barred the department from using the documents in its investigation, and ruled separately that Trump’s lawyers do not need to review them for potential questions of privilege these files.
Yes. Justice Cannon made an absurd ruling that only a MAGA judge with less than two years of experience could make, telling the parties that the Justice Department could not proceed with a criminal investigation unless a special master ruled. Not only did the 11th Circuit dismiss the argument dismissively, it did so in less than a week.
Then came Judge Deerey, who told Trump’s lawyers to accept or shut up within a week. Dearie wants all the evidence that these documents are classified. Most likely there is no evidence.
Trump’s goal is to demand Special Master According to sources familiar with the matter, it was a multi-pronged approach from the start, and the chief (though not publicly stated) was targeting the FBI search. Mar-a-Lago Surprise Trump’s lawyers,” he wrote. “The second main purpose, the source said, was to use the special initiative as a tool to gain more insight into the documents the FBI had retrieved from the property as they initially had Trump’s reach and their own, potential exposure.
Ah yes, Trump’s lawyers can’t trust Trump to remember or tell them frankly what he has. In addition, Christina Bobb, a former Trump attorney, announced and signed a statement that all documents had been returned. Trump’s lawyers must know that simply representing Trump puts them at risk because of his habit of hanging people outside to dry.
Trump’s lawyers won’t know what documents Trump has until potential charges are filed.
After the FBI raided Mar-a-Lago, after the National Archives requested the records and was told he had returned all of them, Trump had material that should not have left the SCIF room, and only by those with special access rights Seeing every normal person get a little giddy about why he has these files. No one wants to delay the investigation. National security is threatened. The Justice Department knows it, the judge knows it, and even Trump’s lawyers know it now. They are panicking now.
