The Italian added that the Blues still had to reach a deal with Leipzig.
“It doesn’t mean the deal is done; the medical was done a few weeks ago and Chelsea have sent the player a proposal and he’s happy with it. But for RB Leipzig, there’s still more to come in terms of an agreement. A lot of work to be done,” Romano wrote.

“I’ve been told Chelsea will try to discuss fees with Leipzig before launching the clause in June 2023; so they may discuss different price tags or payment terms. Chelsea are pushing and leading the game so far, equally standing with players side,” Romano wrote.
