Indian team Generalist Hardik Pandya After returning from New Zealand, he finally had some quality time with his son, Agastya. Pandya, who led India to a 1-0 win over New Zealand in the recently concluded T20I series, is now back with his family after a break for the ODI series.
Hardik Pandya shared an adorable photo of him taking a nap with his son Agastya on social media. Here’s what he tweeted:
Managing Hardik Pandya’s workload is crucial for India
Over the past few months, Hardik Pandya has played a lot of T20 cricket in the run-up to the T20 World Cup. With the ODI World Cup in India next year, the Blue Shirts simply cannot afford to lose Pandya to injury. This makes managing his workload over the next 12 months critical.
India don’t have a seam bowling all-rounder of Hardik’s ability. Players like him and Ravindra Jadeja, who provide much-needed balance to the Eleven, need to be looked after. It will also open up opportunities for bowlers like Deepak Chahar and Shardul Thakur, who have shown proficiency with the bat.
Both Thakur and Chahar will be in the team’s upcoming ODI series new Zealand and Bangladesh. Even Washington Sundar’s all-round ability will be closely watched as he returns to the ODI team following a string of injuries.
The New Zealand ODI will provide a chance for some players on the fringes of the Indian ODI home team to defend themselves. The first ODI will be held at Eden Park and will start at 7:00am CST on Friday, November 25th.
New Zealand ODI Squad: Shikhar Dhawan (C), Shubman Gill, Deepak Hooda, Suryakumar Yadav, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant (VC and WK), Sanju Samson (WK), Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur, Shahbaz Ahmed, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Arshdeep Singh, Deepak Chahar, Kurdeep Sen, Umran Malik.
