Arizona Senate candidate Rep. Ruben Gallego, a likely Democrat, slammed Sen. Kyrsten Sinema for abandoning the Democratic Party.
Gallego responded to Sinema’s decision to register as an independent institution on Twitter:

The last line of the Gallego statement is important. Once again, Sinema puts her interests and career aspirations above the needs of Arizona voters.
Democratic and Republican candidates are likely to use this against Sinema in the 2024 campaign.
Kyrsten Sinema is a nonpartisan trying to be John McCain at a time of change in Arizona, not where McCain built and sustained his successful political career.
Senator Sinema is betting that Democrats will be so afraid of losing her seat in a three-way contest that they won’t nominate a candidate to challenge her.
However, Sinema has burned so many bridges with the man who got her elected that it’s likely that Arizona Democrats are going all-in for Gallego and keeping Sinema out.
For months, Rep. Gallego has sent a strong message He’s running, and it seems unlikely that Democrats will support someone who abandons his party, no matter who else is running in 2024.
Kyrsten Sinema May Have Ended Her Senatorial Career By Bail Democrats.
