The Minneapolis Police Department has violated civil rights law through racist policing practices, according to a denunciation report from the Minnesota Department of Human Rights. The report found that police stop, search, arrest and use force against people of color at a much higher rate than white people, and use social media to spy on black people who are not suspected of crimes.
