Donald Trump took to his social media platforms for a bizarre passage, boasting that he turned down a deal to bring Paul Whelan home from a Russian prison.
Trump wrote on Truth Social:
I turned down a deal with Russia for a one-for-one exchange with so-called dead businessman Paul Whelan. I wouldn’t trade a hundred people for a guy who killed countless people in an arms deal. However, I will rescue Paul, as I have rescued a record number of other hostages. Griner’s deal was crazy and bad. It won’t even happen during my administration, but if it does, I’ll get her out ASAP!
