Galle Gladiators take on Colombo Stars in match 12 of the 2022 Lanka Super League. The Pale Kele International Cricket Stadium in Pale Kele hosted the action-packed match.
The Gladiators were called to bat first thanks to contributions from Kusal Mendis (72) and Asad Shafiq (58), who took 193 off the board. Naveen-ul-Haq took two wickets for the Stars, who took five in total.
In response, contributions from Dinesh Chandimal (63) and Charith Asalanka (46) helped them take the game to the final innings. Ravi Bopara Keeping his nerves in check, unbeaten in 31 games, took just 12 pitches and sent his team over the line on the last pitch. Nuwan Thushara and Anwar Ali picked up three scalps each, but the Gladiators failed to keep the total.

Kandy Falcons’ Andre Fletcher continues to top the list of highest scoring players in the 2022 Lanka Super League. The right-handed starter has scored 185 runs in five games with a batting average of 46.25. He scored a century in his first game and was in fine form at bat.
fletcher’s opening partner Pathum Nissan in the second position. Nissanka scored 177 points in five games with an average of 35.40. He, along with Fletcher, is off to a solid start for the Falcons. Jaffna Kings’ Avishkar Fernando also had 177 runs, which is behind Nissanka in the list of the most runs in the 2022 Lanka Super League.
Galle Gladiators captain Kusar Mendis scored 72 goals from 49 against the Stars and took his tally to 177 in five games. He has jumped up to fourth and leads the Gladiators from the front. He will be eager to continue contributing in their upcoming clash.
Lanka Super League 2022 list with the most wickets
Kandy Falcons’ Carlos Brathwaite is the leading wicket-taker in the 2022 Lanka Super League. He has taken 11 wickets with an 8.82 average in five starts. He bowled with a 6.06 economy rate and did a great job leading the Falcons’ bowling offense.
Galle Gladiators’ Nuwan Thushara starred in the match against the Stars. He hit it nicely, finishing with 3/29 numbers in his four pitches. He now has nine wickets in the game, behind Brathwaite on most wicket lists.
Vijayakanth Vijayakanth The Kings of Jaffna have taken eight wickets in four games to finish below Thushara. He averaged 11.88 ball possession and 5.94 economy per game. He’s been vital for the Kings and will hopefully add some to his scoring next game.
