Theo Hernandez and Randall Kolo Mouani scored for France in the 2022 FIFA World Cup semi-final as they beat Morocco 2-0 to secure a berth in the final. They face Argentina on Sunday 18 December.
Antoine Griezmann has now praised the Atlas Lions’ resilience after a stellar performance for Didier Deschamps’ side. The Atletico Madrid striker said after the game (via Get French Football News):
“I was very impressed with Morocco. They did a very good job tactically, defending as well as attacking. They caused us a lot of problems and the coach realized that and made changes.
“Marcus [Thuram’s] It’s good for us to come in on the left wing, Theo helps more defensively. Then the fact that we opened the scoring early opened the game for us and the second goal sent us home. “

Regragui further added that his team has gone further than some of the tournament’s recognized favorites:
“We are farther than Brazil, Spain, Germany, all the top teams, but if we want Morocco to be on the map of world football, we have to show that regularly.
“We may never be as good as Brazil, France, England, but I hope we qualify for every World Cup. We’ve shown that Africans can compete with the top teams. We need to try to prove that there are no surprises.”
