Environment ministers from a coalition of countries including Canada, Britain, Costa Rica and France have urged negotiators at the COP15 summit to back the so-called 30 x 30 target – A target to protect 30% of the world’s land and seas by 2030 in an effort to halt the loss of global biodiversity.
