The company is now rolling out an add-on feature that allows kids to send purchase requests to the family account manager for approval without an existing payment method.
Children can request approval for paid apps and in-app purchases when the family doesn’t have a payment method set up. Once the family manager receives the request via a notification (or in their request queue), they can approve the request and make the purchase using their own payment methods, including Google Play gift cards. Managers can view these requests under the Pending and History tabs.
