Christmas is just around the corner, and everyone is excited to get home despite the looming “bomb cyclone,” which sounds more like the name of Applebees’ delicious alcoholic drink than a dreaded winter storm.
This season is filled with a lot of traditions, most of which are lovely. One particularly bad one, though, is the worst year-over-year this year.
Of course, I’m talking about Congress’s new tradition of passing massive spending bills that no one reads. This year’s monster dropped on Monday night, and it’s expected to pass by the end of the week.
I mean, of course, we don’t want our lawmakers not to be able to go home and enjoy Christmas! If we wanted our elected lawmakers to do their jobs, what kind of Christmas spirit would we have?

refuse it
I like the ones who put a wrench in the system, mostly if it’s a system perpetuated by the government. We should expect our elected leaders to be wrench-throwers; it’s a way of making sure what Congress passes is sound, and holding some of the blame for these clowns who claim to be fighting for us.
Senator Rand Paul is a wrench thrower and I love him for that. He came out yesterday and made it clear that he will reject the omnibus bill.
this bill He objected to 4,155 pages of spending worth $1.65 trillion. Congressman Dan Bishop explained that to read the entire bill, you’d have to read a little over four pages a minute for 16 straight hours without a break.

Of course, reading it so quickly is futile anyway. The smartest people on the planet can’t memorize this information, or look up the thousands of existing laws that are being changed.
The omnibus was released around 2am today. The Senate is now voting to begin debate on the bill.
Until now, to read the entire bill, you’d need to read more than 4 pages per minute without interruption for 16 hours straight.
What a farce.

Most of our elected leaders of the left and right will vote for this bill without reading it. It’s unbelievable that these people get paid without even looking at the names they write.
So let’s take a look at what’s in the bills we all have to pay with our taxes.
what is a shopping list
There were a lot of great posts on Twitter last night about the Omnibus, but perhaps the most important one came from MP Bishop. Please check it out; it’s fun and frustrating at the same time.
Some of the projects he points to include ridiculous ones like $3 million for a “bee-friendly highway.” Nobody in Washington knows what that means; I don’t know what that means; nobody knows what that means.
No doubt the money is going to some pointless environmental special interest group that is a subsidiary of a much larger group and I bet whoever puts that gem in there is going to donate a ton of money .

Talk about a buzz. pic.twitter.com/PWH3Z5Cn0x

Not so funny, Mr. Bishop highlight $575 million for Family Planning in areas where population growth threatens biodiversity. In short, this is your taxpayer money for services like abortion to curb our population growth in the name of the environment and animal growth.
It sounds more like the plot of a dystopian TV show than something that would happen in real life, but here we are. But if you want to know what Congress doesn’t care about, you have to look at what’s in our border bill.
The money is for them, not for us
The omnibus bill prohibits funding Customs and Border Patrol to “acquire, maintain or expand border security technology and capabilities.” You’d think Republicans would be at least outraged by this.
Instead, they are running to victory to increase “defense” spending to record levels.
Even more maddening is Mr. Bishop Find We are spending:
“…At the same time, $410 million was allocated for border security in other countries, namely Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt, Tunisia and Oman.”
So when our porous borders are about to be overwhelmed with more illegal immigration, our lawmakers are throwing money at other countries to ensure their sovereignty. Meanwhile, in the South, we are witnessing an active invasion of our country assisted by our representatives left and right.

We must not forget our international pawn in the proxy war with Russia. Unsurprisingly, Ukraine did well on this bill.If you ask Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, he Tell you Facts that the bill has nothing to do with helping citizens of this country:
“Finally finalizing the integrated bus is critical and absolutely critical to supporting our friends in Ukraine.”
So let’s see how much Republicans will give up on this blank check.
If only Senate Republicans were as keen on securing the border as they are on providing never-ending money to Ukraine! pic.twitter.com/Reckld632D

huge christmas check
Ukraine foreseeable getting $45 billion On the aid side, this would bring the total to $100 billion this year.In fact, Congress is coughing $8 billion or more More than the Biden administration has asked for.
Let’s see Some The $45 billion involved includes:
- $9 billion for direct arms and other military aid
- $11.8 billion to replenish U.S. military stockpiles due to transfer to Ukraine
- $7 billion to support U.S.-EU command operations in Ukraine
The above isn’t even exhaustive; we won’t know the full breakout until, you guessed it, the bill passes.
Wow, great job, Republican; you really do provide us with oversight and accountability. But of course, everyone is excited about another big event of the week.
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky made a surprise trip to the District of Columbia today, his first trip abroad since the war broke out more than 300 days ago. Gosh, I hope his Santa bag is big enough to carry all the cash back to Ukraine.
Naturally, the men and women of our legislative branch are eager to hear from foreign leaders. What a great way to end the year. To keep lawmakers in the district, Nancy Pelosi send out a letter:
“We are wrapping up a very special session of the 117th Congress, legislating progress for the American people and supporting our democracy. Please join us for Wednesday night’s special focus on democracy.”
Wow, we spent a whopping $45 billion to buy a fantastic dinner night and a show for our men and women in Congress. Merry Christmas to them, I thought.
A total of $44.9 billion was provided to Ukraine.
$16.7 billion for U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
Democrats continue to protect our own foreign borders.

we ask for it
Dear reader, I hate to tell you this, but we ask for it; in fact, we ask for it year after year.
senator paul Say:
“The American people don’t want this, they’re tired of it.”
But I’m afraid that’s not true, however much it should be. We are the ones who keep re-electing old politicians of the left and right.
The worst in bipartisan politics have teamed up to demand that Congress rubber-stamp a 4,155-page blank check — many times the length of the Bible.
A check for $1,700,000,000,000.
They want to flag it before anyone actually reads it.
Sounds like right.

We continue to vote for these fools who promise us change and responsibility, and year after year, they give us the same waste and abuse as before. Every time we vote for them, we demand it; in a way, we as a country suffer because we need to be hurt, like political masochists are attracted to our political sadists.
I’m glad Rand Paul said no, but unfortunately, it won’t make a difference. We are the ones who need to say no, and until we do, we will continue to pay for bee-friendly highways and perpetual proxy wars in faraway lands.
