Rep. Lloyd Doggett (D-TX), who sits on the House Ways and Means Committee, said Trump’s tax returns show he has tens of millions of dollars in unsubstantiated claims.

Rep. Doggett said on CNN, “I think you’re going to see tens of millions of dollars in these returns that are claimed without sufficient evidence. To what extent the IRS is trying to get substantiated, I invite you to see report. But I think you’d be surprised at how little there is in it, and I doubt another taxpayer could do an audit and offer as little as what’s offered here and expect the audit to be done.”
Doggett suggested that Trump’s claim of tens of millions of dollars in losses was not true and was a form of tax fraud. Trump has a documented history of inflating his assets to get loans and shrinking those same assets to avoid paying taxes.
If Trump lied to the IRS and took untrue losses to avoid payments or get refunds, that would be tax fraud.
New York state appears to have barred Trump businesses from tax fraud entitlements, but tax returns could find Donald Trump guilty of federal tax fraud.
trump may have hide his tax returns Because they contain evidence of illegal activity, the IRS would be under intense pressure to investigate and Trump could be prosecuted if he committed tax fraud.
