Manchester City legend Yaya Toure has opened up about his feud with Pep Guardiola, revealing he is ready to sit down and talk.
In an interview with France Football magazine in 2018, the Ivorian footballer claimed Guardiola did not like African players. He told Sportsmail last year that he had written to his former manager to end their feud but never heard back.
In his recent interview with the “Daily Mail”, Toure brought up the topic again, inviting the Manchester City boss to sit at the negotiating table and talk about good people.
“I’d be more than happy to talk to him,” said Tottenham’s under-16 manager.
“I’m taking a different path now. I’m going to be someone who’s trying to understand my players, different cultures and footballers and bring them together to form a team. I’m going to be a manager one day. “
In his explosive 2018 interview, Toure said he would send Guardiola a piece of the cake if he fielded a squad of five African players.
“[Guardiola]insisted he had no problem with black players because he was too intelligent to be seen,” he said.
“But when you realize he has a problem with the Africans, wherever he goes, I ask myself questions. He’ll never admit it. But one day he’ll put a team together and we find five of them African, not yet naturalized, I promise to send him a piece of cake.”
Toure has since tried unsuccessfully to apologize to the manager for his harsh remarks.
