President Joe Biden has come under heavy criticism as he and his wife, first lady Jill Biden, spend New Years holidays in the Virgin Islands while the death toll from a huge snowstorm mounts.
bbc report on tuesday More than 60 Americans have died in “weather-related events” involving “a massive winter storm sweeping across North America.”
That number is likely to rise as cities like Buffalo continue to dig snow.
That crisis aside, more than 10,000 U.S. flights have been canceled since Christmas Eve, stymiing travel and stranded countless vacationers.
But Biden said new york postNew Years Eve this week in St. Croix.
“The 80-year-old commander-in-chief will soak up the Caribbean sun near the in-ground pool of his three-bedroom beach house and enjoy panoramic views of the largest island in the U.S. Virgin Islands,” they wrote.
Maybe a vacation on sunny St. Croix wasn’t the best option for the president while Americans who froze to death in New York on Christmas were still being dug out of six feet of snow?https://t.co/ExyqMN1zWM

Critics pointed to the fact that bodies were still being dug from the snow in Buffalo as President Biden flew to the Caribbean for vacation, and that the death toll was rising because of the nationwide snowstorm.
“It’s not just a vacation, it’s a warm and beautiful place while everyone else is freezing to death,” former NFL reporter Michelle Tafoya said Tuesday morning on Fox News.
“Not only is it a holiday, but it’s a warm and beautiful place while everyone else is freezing to death,” noted @Michele_Tafoya As the death toll climbed in New York, Biden traveled to St. Croix. “Mr. President, cancel your trip—it’s not too late.” pic.twitter.com/RRvcNfrsHN

Others noted that Biden’s holiday comes as the border crisis spirals out of control, with the president claiming he won’t be visiting the southern border because “there are more important things” to attend to.

Clearly, St. Croix is more important than the humanitarian crisis surrounding the border states or visiting Buffalo, where frozen bodies are still found and people are still without power.
seems legit.
“Where is @POTUS in this crisis?” Republican Rep. Jim Banks asked on social media. “Vacation in St. Croix.”

Will the mainstream media harass him like he did with Trump or Cruz?
Remember when former President Donald Trump’s vacation from the White House was a perpetual news story? Biden’s trip to the Virgin Islands generated little buzz in the mainstream media.
political insider October report Biden was “working” in his home state of Delaware for a quarter of his presidency at the time, more than at the same point in Trump’s presidency.

Oh, and anyone else remember Ted Cruz running wild for Cancun while millions in Texas were left without power and running water in freezing temperatures?
Of course, you know — it’s been a 24/7 news cycle for days. Cruz is rightly criticized for leaving while others are suffering.
Will Biden get the same treatment as ABC, NBC, CNN, etc.?
As you may recall, Biden’s White House criticize cruz himself “A lot of people across the state don’t have power,” he said while on vacation with then-press secretary Jen Psaki. [and] Without the resources they need, we hope this will be a concern for whoever is elected to represent them in this state. “
Roll it out nationwide and make the same statement while handing the president a mirror.
Cruz cut his trip short after facing backlash. Is there any chance for Biden to do the same?
