Donald Trump celebrates after news broke Jan. 6 that the committee had withdrawn a subpoena for the former president to testify.
The panel’s chair, Rep. Benny Thompson (D-MS), suggested they no longer need to press Trump for documents and statements because they’ve already done their job.
