Now that we’re entering the new year, the MLB offseason is nearly halfway through. At this juncture, it’s a good time to look forward to the upcoming campaign and rank the best teams right now.
2022 gives us an exciting season. We’ve seen some of the best teams in the league falter in the playoffs, and the underdogs have surpassed any and all expectations.
“Because it’s the last day of 2022. The Houston Astros are your 2022 World Series champions!!!” – @全音前
The Houston Astros are at the top of the 2023 power rankings. From pitching to hitting to fielding, there’s nothing to complain about when it comes to how the 2022 Astros will perform.
Although the team lost All-Star pitcher Justin Verlander, they had incredible bats like Alex Bregman, Jose Altuve and Jeremy Pena. They also added Jose Abreu.expected houston 2023 to top the charts again.
next is New York Mets. Led by billionaire owner Steve Cohen, the team has splurged on big names like Max Scherzer (who set an MLB salary record with $43 million last season).
The Mets also tied Scherzer’s record by signing defending Cy Young winner Justin Verlander to a two-year deal. Although 2022 was a disappointing year for the Mets, expect them to shine in 2023, especially with the acquisition of Carlos Correa.
The third is new york yankeesNew captain Aaron Judge signed a nine-year, $360 million contract with the Bombers, making him the highest-paid position player in history. The Yankees hit 254 home runs in 2022, more than any other team. With their superb hitting, the addition of right-hander Carlos Rodon to their already stacked rotation will make it difficult for Aaron Boone’s club to beat.

No. 4 in the 2023 MLB Power Rankings is los angeles dodgers. The Dodgers are pitching giants. Between Clayton Kershaw, Noah Syndergaard and Julio Urias, they look set to once again have the lowest ERA in the league. Freddie Freeman and Mookie Betts will also lead the Dodgers to their ninth NL West title in the past decade.
MLB will be as competitive as ever in 2023
MLB is brimming with raw skill on so many teams, it’s anyone’s season. While the aforementioned teams have the best chance of winning on paper, we can also expect to see some upsets and surprises.
It seems almost a foregone conclusion that at least one of these teams will be underwhelming in the upcoming campaign. The Challengers are also likely to come out of the woodwork, because that’s the nature of not just baseball, but all sports. The question remains who that team will be for the 2023 MLB season.
