Former Fox News host turned CNN personality Chris Wallace mocked Kevin McCarthy’s speaker drama unfolding in the House, saying it would never happen to Nancy Pelosi.
Wallace’s comments were made during an appearance The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Thursday night.
Colbert start segment By suggesting that McCarthy’s repeated losses in the vote to nominate him as speaker were “karma” because he “sold (his) soul for political power and (got) nothing in return.”
Wallace went on to tell a story about meeting Nancy Pelosi’s daughter, Alexandra, after taking a train to New York City.
“We can all agree that under Nancy Pelosi, this will never happen,” Wallace told Colbert. “Because Nancy Pelosi has a rule, which is: If you don’t have votes, you don’t play.”

Chris Wallace praises Nancy Pelosi
A real journalist would dig deeper into this kind of analysis. But sadly, Chris Wallace is not really a reporter. He is nothing more than CNN cannon fodder and, by extension, a marionette dancing for the Democratic Party.
Pelosi actually ran into a similar situation in 2018, when “squads” ran around DC, pretending to be the progressive maverick, challenging her role as leader.

As McCarthy is now facing.
What’s the difference? The “squad” tucked its tail and kowtowed to Pelosi, despite their chatter for a change of scenery.
These Republican die-hards are doing what the squad never had the courage to do: using their power to defy the party leadership in order to secure concessions.
Not sure why it’s a point of pride to show that you always obey the party’s orders like a good soldier. Not much dignity. https://t.co/t7uqZrUPGE

The group then aligned itself with Pelosi on almost every issueReps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (93%), Ilhan Omar (93%), Ayana Pressley (94%) and Rashida Tlaib ( 92%) voted for her on nearly every major piece of legislation in the most recent session of Congress.
If anything, the Speaker’s story is not about Pelosi going to do a better job than McCarthy, but about how conservatives who opposed McCarthy had the courage to do what the squad would never dare to do.
But Chris Wallace doesn’t want to discuss that. It might be too “inside baseball” for rednecks sitting in the audience like seals to applaud a super irrigator like Colbert.

Joking on CNN+
Wallace also took the opportunity to banter with Colbert on CNN+ after the network’s streaming service suffered an embarrassing situation when it was shut down just a month after it launched last year.
Wallace will be a key face of the business.
He noted that the last time he appeared with Colbert, the service was still in place.
“CNN+ is still there. It was the day before our show,” he said, before someone in the audience applauded him.
“Thanks. Got a CNN+ audience!” quipped Wallace.
For years, Wallace was hailed as Fox’s “direct news” personality, a silly concept by any metric.
He’s so enamored of President Biden that he describes the marble orator Inaugural Address Known as “the best inaugural address I’ve ever heard”.
He’s covered news and politics for over 50 years, and this is the best inaugural address he’s ever heard? correct.

In that analysis, Wallace called Trump supporters who participated in the Jan. 6 protests “domestic terrorists” and “insurgents.”
That’s why his move to CNN was a natural fit. Too bad no one was there to see him anymore.
