A source close to super-agent Jorge Mendes has criticized Cristiano Ronaldo’s all-encompassing ego and claims no European club can meet his unrealistic demands.
Cristiano Ronaldo joins Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr on 30 December 2022 in a stunning, record-breaking transfer. Ronaldo switches to Al-Nassr after amicable termination of contract with Al-Nassr Manchester United.
Club and player part ways after Ronaldo’s explosive interview with Piers Morgan in which he criticized Manchester United boss and manager Eric Ten WitchesAccording to various sources, Ronaldo’s agent at the time, Mendes, advised him not to do that interview. Ronaldo ignored his advice, which led Mendes to abandon his superstar client after more than 20 years together.
Now, a source close to Mendes has come forward to lash out at Ronaldo, accusing him of being too egotistical and having unrealistic expectations.
“Cristiano Ronaldo has an obvious perception problem that makes it impossible for him to discern whether the compliments he receives are real or fake. He is curious, which is why those around him keep treating him like a victorious Julius Caesar , because they knew he was not capable of seeing further,” said the source (via El Confidencial).
He also claimed, Portugal The Legend’s ineptitude on the pitch and his unrealistic demands had European clubs showing interest in him.
“Ronaldo won’t be famous a month after his 38th birthday. And he certainly won’t be able to make the money that the star he once was. No one will be able to satisfy his ego and financial demands while giving him an offer that makes sense in his head but in reality Not such a collective opportunity,” the source added.
Brazil great Juninho says Cristiano Ronaldo’s new boss Nasser is willing to provide him with breakfast if needed
Juninho Pernambucano, arguably the best free-kick taker in history (77 free-kicks), lashed out at Cristiano Ronaldo’s new Al-Nassr coach, Rudi Garcia. Garcia was the head coach of Olympique Lyonnais before taking over from Nasser, and worked closely with Juninho, who was then the French club’s sporting director.
Juninho has slammed Garcia’s selfish attitude and claimed he would go above and beyond to please Ronaldo.
“he [Rudi Garcia] Don’t know how to lead anything. He leads by imposing fear on others,” Juninho told Marca.
“He only respects those who have power, or who he can use in a relationship.”
On the subject of Ronaldo, he said:
“He didn’t dare to do anything to get in the way, instead he would even provide Cristiano with breakfast if necessary.
“He will try to be friends with Cristiano, be close to him and he will do everything for that. It will be a dream for him to be friends with Cristiano Ronaldo.”
Ronaldo signed a two-and-a-half-year contract (until June 2025) with the Middle Eastern club, becoming the highest-paid athlete in the process. According to renowned football journalist Fabrizio Romano, the superstar will earn around $200 million a year during his stay in Saudi Arabia.
