Now that the battle for the speaker of the House of Representatives is over, the Republicans are about to enter the next battle.
Ronna McDaniel is the current chair of the RNC and she wants to be re-elected.
However, a growing number of conservatives want to see a change in leadership.
Republicans in Alabama and Louisiana are the latest to join the fray.

Southern States Oppose RNC Chairwoman Rona McDaniel
Ronna McDaniel, chairwoman of the Republican National Committee, is running for re-election at a time when growing “sunbelt” uprisings among Republican activists at the state and local levels have become a threat — or at least a noisy nuisance.
From Arizona to Florida, state parties are passing or considering a vote of no confidence in McDaniel, demanding new leadership after three disappointing elections.
The latest signs of insurgency are in the Deep South, Alabama and Louisiana. The state party there this week rebuked McDaniel after rank-and-file Republicans aired their displeasure. Roger Villere Jr., an RNC member from Louisiana who backs McDaniel’s rival Harmeet Dhillon for chairman, confirmed Tuesday that his state approved an anti-McDaniel resolution Saturday at his urging.
“There is strong support for change at the grassroots level,” Villers said. “Every day, every vote, every phone call, I hear someone wanting someone other than Ronna. … We’ve been through three cycles where we’ve underperformed and it’s time to gone.”
On Monday, the Alabama Republican Party announced that its steering committee had lost confidence in McDaniel and urged “members of the RNC across the country” to vote against her.
Republican attorney Harmeet Dhillon is the strongest challenger.
Looks like our RNC reps in the South are listening to their constituents! Thanks! https://t.co/GZrl52AWh9
