Dubai Capitals beat Abu Dhabi Knights by 73 runs in match 1 of the International League League 2023 (ILT20) at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Friday, January 13. With the win, the Capitals sit at the top of the standings with a net rating of 3.65.
Meanwhile, the Cavaliers still have a lot of work to do in the upcoming ILT20. Not only do they need to open accounts, but they also have to improve their net run ratio, currently at -3.65.
Capitals thump Knight Riders in ILT20 opener
After batting first, the Capitals put up a decent score of 187/6 on the board. Robin Usapa Joe Root paved a 35-lane grandstand for the opening wickets. After 12 rounds, the Capitals found themselves in some trouble with 84 points from three.

The Cavaliers got off to a shaky start as Colin Ingram didn’t bother the scorer much. It wasn’t long before Brandon King was gnashing his teeth too. Zawar Farid also found it tough before Powell lured him into a missed stroke. Meanwhile, Paul Sterling brought up his 36 goals in half a century.
However, he couldn’t keep going and was 54 for 38 with five fours and two sixes. The Cavaliers lost half their team after Raza sent Narine back trying to go downtown. Once Russell was out, the Cavs’ performance in Game 1 of the ILT20 was evident.
