Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) said the lies and slander spread against him by Kevin McCarthy are inciting death threats.
Swalwell’s video on MSNBC’s Deadline: The White House:
Nicolle Wallace of MSNBC asked Rep. Swalwell why he was removed from the committee and he replied:
Well, political revenge. Kevin McCarthy seems to want to heat up the legacy of a story dating back to Barack Obama’s first term, the FBI has said three times differently, in a rare form, they never talk about the investigation, all I do is help them, never suspected wrongdoing.
…
The consequences of his claims are not just that I’m in the company, he’s weaponized the Intelligence Committee, which inspired these death threats. People imitate what Kevin McCarthy says when they make threats on the phone. So he knows this. We told him about it. I had already told him. You know, when you do this, I have broadcast to him publicly, which leads to threats to me, my wife and our children. Someone recently said they were going to rape and kill my child. They’re using the same language that Kevin McCarthy uses. All of this comes at a price.

“What did he say when you told him?” Wallace asked.
Swalwell replied: “He doesn’t care. You know, he wants to focus on executing the revenge he promised in this corrupt deal. He won’t even stop to talk to me when I try to talk to him.”
Kevin McCarthy doesn’t care if his lies will incite death threats against House members and their families because of his deal with Donald Trump and the far-right House member who made him speaker.
McCarthy stripped Swalwell of the committee because he was prosecuting Donald Trump for 1/6 of the attacks.
Kevin McCarthy knows he’s risking the lives of Eric Swalwell’s children, but he doesn’t care.
The Republican Party is like that.
