Federal Judge John Middle Brooks fined Trump and his lawyers nearly $1 million for abusing the legal system to file a frivolous lawsuit against Hillary Clinton.
A federal judge on Thursday imposed nearly $1 million in sanctions on former President Donald Trump and his lawyers for their lawsuit against Hillary Clinton and others who claim they tried to manipulate the 2016 presidential election in Clinton’s favor. “Boring” lawsuits.
“This case should not have been brought,” U.S. District Judge John Mead Brooks of the Southern District of Florida wrote in his order sanctioning Trump’s civil lawsuit, which the judge had previously dismissed.
“Its inadequacy as a legal claim was evident from the outset. No reasonable attorney would have brought the case. None of the counts in the amended complaint demonstrate an identifiable legal claim for political purposes.”
The purpose of such sanctions is to hopefully stop other lawyers from filing frivolous lawsuits on Trump’s behalf. The same judge who tore up the lawsuit when it initially dismissed it, and pullWells, who has filed lawsuits in other states over Trump’s colossal lie, has also been sanctioned.
On Thursday, Trump inadvertently admitted to inciting violence when he tried to accuse the media of using the term “wagger.” The justices are tired of Trump trying to use their courtroom as a forum for making political points and gaining publicity.
Donald Trump is not president, so there is less tolerance for his abuse of power and nonsense.
It’s been a humiliating month for Trump, and things could get worse soon.
The judiciary branch of government has been the one that has been acting as a guardrail and standing up to Trump.
