The Dallas Cowboys lost to the San Francisco 49ers 19-12 in the divisional round. Their kicking issues continued, with being held back on their lone touchdown for a plus, but the poor play by most of the teams was what really sank them.
This usually has to do with coaching, or lack thereof. During his career, McCarthy did not become a significant coach. He did win a Super Bowl, but his Green Bay Packers (and Cowboys so far) career was marked by big game exits.
This one was no exception, and one fan also dubbed him “White Doctor Rivers.”

Cowboys fans haven’t had the same success as they did in the 1980s and 90s, though their teams are often true contenders these days.

They could lose a lot of starters at position and depth this offseason. Not only do they need to keep a lot of these players, but they still have holes to work out anyway. This is going to be a very important and interesting offseason for the Cowboys.
