Egg prices have risen 66% since last year, according to the Consumer Price Index.
People around the world are finding themselves paying more for store-bought eggs after more than 41 million laying hens died from bird flu.
In response to egg shortages, some are turning to artificial plant-based eggs.

Shortly after investing, gates Soon to be praising Hampton Creek’s faux eggs in various blogs and presentations.
Two years after its launch, bird flu outbreaks swept the world, leading some consumers to permanently switch to plant-based eggs.
Hampton Creek has since changed its name to Eat Just and now also sells plant-based meats under the Beyond Meat brand.
