I want you to see it. During this interview, then-elected Congressman George Santos was talking to the host in Portuguese, so we have subtitles. He started talking about the alleged vandalism, which he said was directed at him simply because he was a Republican. But in the middle of it, he said, oh, there are people trying to murder him.
We have suffered an attempt on my life, an assassination attempt. There was an assassination attempt, really? George Santos, who was subsequently elected to Congress, did not elaborate on his claims in interviews.
Here’s a screenshot with English subtitles:

Laughing at Santos’ outrageous lies is fun, and late night comedians have a lot of fun with him, but George Santos is a pathological liar who shouldn’t be in any position of power.
It is dangerous for the country to have someone like Santos in Congress and on congressional committees.
If George Santos found it so easy to lie and scam, imagine what he could do with national security information.
Santos’ casual lying made him dangerous.
